The ARC Healthy Living Centre Ltd is based in NE Fermanagh in Irvinestown on the Enniskillen to Omagh road, 10 miles from Enniskillen and 17 miles to Omagh.
It was formed in 2000 to undertake management of the build and ongoing programme operation of the ARC Healthy Living Centre, which is a refurbished building based within Sallyswood estate and officially opened in 2001.
The ARC Healthy Living Centre aims to improve the well being of local people by bringing together partnerships of community health activities and services. It provides a number of services to communities in Irvinestown and North Fermanagh - currently over 3,000 children and families, many of whom are living in areas of high deprivation.
The target groups are the elderly, rurally isolated, young people, short and long term unemployed, people with drug /alcohol dependencies, those with mental health problems, families on low incomes, and adults and children with special needs.
The ARC actively promotes community participation and volunteering – services are run for local people, by local people.
BT Connected Communities, as part of Get IT Together in partnership with the UK charity Citizens Online, has invested 6 refurbished computers and a laptop and are working closely with the group Volunteer Now and BT to recruit and train Digital Champion volunteers to deliver short informal fun introductory sessions to the computer and Internet to local participants– promoting digital inclusion for everyone.
